El Proyecto Receta
In this project, we were tasked to create a recipe and cooking show based on a traditional latin recipe completely in spanish. For our recipe, we chose to produce Rice Horchata. We began this project by translating a traditional recipe for horchata into spanish, and then researching the cultural influence and history of the drink. We then wrote a script for the cooking show completely in spanish.
El Proyecto Biografía.
In this project, we studied the past imperfect and past preterite tenses. We did this by creating a biography video and speech as well as an art piece on a famous latin person.For my project, I chose to do José Raúl Capablanca. Capablanca was the first latin world chess champion. He was born in Havana Cuba in 1888. He was widely considered the best chess player to ever live, and even invented his own form of chess, called Capablanca chess.

El Día de los Muertos
In this project, we were tasked to make two satyrical traditional death poems called Calaveras, and a memorial for a lost one, for The Day of the Dead celebration.
In the process of making these final products, I went through multiple revision processes, each time re writing, and getting feedback from my teachers. Through this process, I was able to obtain perfect grammar and spelling in spanish.
Through this project I learned about Mexican culture by researching one of the major parts of their society, their ideals surrounding death. This taught me about how closely knit Mexican families are. I learned that there is a strong sense of community and love in mexican communities, that even transcends death.

Reflection
- What is one specific concept or skill that you learned over the course of this project?
Over the course of this project, I learned how to conjugate and form verbs. I learned this through the process of describing myself and my family members. Before this project, I was unclear on how to conjugate verbs in order to convey the subject, but now I have a strong grasp on this subject. - In what way did your ability to describe people in Spanish improve?
My ability to describe people in Spanish improved through learning how to use adjectives. Before the project, I was unaware of the requirements needed to match adjectives to nouns, and how to adjust for masculinity, femininity, and plurality. Now I have a strong grasp on this concept, and how to conjugate adjectives. - How is your art representative of “beautiful work”?
My art is a representation of beautiful work because of the fact that I payed attention to details in my art. This is seen in my attention to shading in my art through the form of the weight of my letters. I chose to make heavier and darker letters to represent darker portions of my art and thinner letters to represent lighter portions of my art.
If given the opportunity to refine my project, I would go back and use online resources to refine my letter. As it was, I was not given any direction for my writing or grammar, and instead was just told to go and do it. Having this happen, I chose to move forward with the assumption that I would be given specific and helpful feedback. Unfortunately, this never occurred. Because of this I didn't know why what I wrote was incorrect. If I had known that I would be getting no feedback of this source, I would have turned to online sources to help me improve my project.
