Self- Portrait
My self portrait symbolizes myself and my transformation as a person form last year to now. The old gray cracked skin represents my old self and views. This grayness is beginning to give way to color, which represents how I am starting to find myself as a person. The background also shows how I have matured as a person by using chess pieces to symbolize a skill that I have progressed in and grown better at throughout the years.
Teacher Creature project: Steve the Bear
Project ReflectionIn this project, we used photoshop to take a teacher, and make them into a "creature". I chose my teacher Steve Smith, who I turned into a Grizzly bear that is biking through New Zealand. I went about this endeavor by using tools such as the brush and eraser tool, the pen tool, and adjusting light settings on particular layers. The most difficult part of this project for me was attempting to add the fur texture to Steve's face. I persevered through this by watching youtube tutorials on this problem, which helped me and showed me how to solve my issue. My favorite part of this project was the open-ended nature of it. We were told the generals of the project ( pick a teacher, pick a creature, pick a place, and put them all together.) and the rest of the project and subjects in the project were completely our choice. Through this project, I have learned that I am a procrastinator by nature, and while this style of working does produce acceptable work at this point, I need to work towards not procrastinating my work and finishing with enough time for serious critiques. I also found that I can overcome my own personal nature of procrastination, if I can find a way to motivate my self to complete my work by a certain date. Through this project, I have learned that I am a perfectionist when it comes to digital arts. I have also learned, through this project, that I am capable of completing Projects professionally, if I can overcome my instincts to procrastinate on my work.

Proportion and Scale Project: landscape project.
In this project, i learned about scale and proportion, and their affect in atmospheric perspective. I learned in this project that all works of art have three divisions of the ground: The fore ground, mid-ground, and background. In the fore ground the Objects and subjects are large, have very vibrant colors, and have high definition as well as texture, and are viewed as separate. The main subject of the art is usually in this ground plane. Objects in the mid ground are of medium size, and are less vibrant and duller than those in the fore ground. In this plane texture and definition disappear. Although in this ground texture and definition disappear, objects are still individuals. In the background, objects are small, untextured, and undefined. In this ground all individualism of objects disappear and blur together into one mass of color. Objects in this ground have very low vibrancy and are much duller than those in other grounds. This project has enhanced my understanding of proportion and ground to a much higher level.
