The Video Project-
The Wonderful World of Propaganda.
In this project, we were tasked to make a video on a subject of our choice that integrated multiple elements of cinematography. These elements included specific types of lighting, camera angles, and transitions. From this project I learned how to use adobe flash and imovie, but more importantly I learned how to troubleshoot programs that are rather vindictive in their trial times and stubborn in their accessibility of necessary features.(i.e. Adobe flash and Imovie). I was also working alone in this project, so i was forced to rely heavily on post production in order to make my video better. Even though I was challenged by this, I still managed to overcome obstacles with advice from Roxy and the assistance of my awesome actors, Zoe and Holden. The feedback I was given was essential to refining my project.
Project Reflection
Art is used in everyday life through the communication and description of our ideas. This is done through something as simple as verbal communication. Art is the conveyance of the artist's ideas to the public, and this can be done through all means of human interaction.
Art is used as a vehicle for conveying ideas because of its ability to communicate much more in a much shorter time than speech. Art is also utilized for its ability to convey ideas to a large group. This form of communication comes from pieces of art such as street art, which makes a point to all that see it.
Material culture influences artistic decision through two ways, one is through physical availability and the other id through ideas created by this culture. If a material culture forces the desire of a specific item to go up such as gold, it will be fairly unlikely to make a piece out of solid gold. The culture also influences art through the ideas that are prevalent in the culture, if a large dispute is arising, it will be more likely that a given piece of art will be created in accordance to that issue.
An artist can create art through combining expanding and sequencing due to the fact that through this process the artist can spread their own ideas. Since this is the point of art, expressing the opinions of the artist, even something as small as a disproportioned image can communicate volumes.
Artists produce preliminary sketches and plans in order to organize their ideas. When an artist makes a preliminary design. it is like a rough draft in writing. It is meant as a tool to refine the final product.

Political Cartoon- Blackfish
Project Reflection
I felt that I did meet the project objectives of the Political cartoon project. I met these requirements by creating a project based upon the comparison of the treatment and discipline of the captive whales in seaworld, to the disciplines of humans, as both whales and humans have strong emotional connections. This subject matter allowed me to effectively portrait my point while using as few words as possible, and in a very effective manner. I took into account the need for simplicity by choosing not to use color. I made this decision based on the ideas that color would distract from my main idea, and that as simple an approach as possible should be taken.
Information can be shared visually through comparisons and visually striking or humorous images. I used a comparison to convey my message. This comparison allowed me to effectively compare my message about the mistreatment of these animals, in a very easy to understand way. In my political cartoon I stated through images that the deprivation of food as a consequence for a whale not performing a trick is tantamount to withholding food from a child as a punishment for not doing a homework assignment.
Creating art differs from viewing art in one major way, the creation of art is meant to convey a personal idea to a large audience, while the viewing of art is meant to receive and understand the views of the artist. This key difference is why art is so important in our culture, as it is a pure means of understanding what another person thinks.

Pre Historic Art History Drawings
Project Description
We Started this project by first looking at the history of art and its evolution through out the ages. Part of how we did this was by watching a video on how man's interactions with animals has shaped their views of art. In this video we learned about animal domestication, and specifically how man has domesticated the Wolf. This influenced my decision to draw the human influence of the wolf.
In this project I used resources to help my drawing, these resources included a handout on how to draw a wolf, and Adobe Illustrator. I used the handout to give me an Idea and guidelines on how to actually draw a wolf. My use of Adobe Illustrator gave me the ability to digitally refine and alter my image.
The image trace tool impacted my drawing by allowing for the digital refinement of my creation. This tool allowed for the lines in my drawing to be traced and for them to become a vector image. A vector image is an image that uses placement of anchor points to allow for the free resizing of the image, with out fear of pixilation. This ability allowed me to alter my image and refine it to a professional point.
I could see myself using this technique in the future to help refine my work to the professional level. This would entail digital retouching of lines and alteration of color in order to create a new and brilliant piece of art. I may use this process in future Humanities projects such as the upcoming happiness project, or also future projects in later grades.
